Back to School Report – Holy Heng’s Story

Holy Heng is 11 year-old-boy who studies in grade 3 at Keap primary school.

His parents were died by HIV since 2000 and he also was transmitted HIV from his parents. He has another brother but his brother doesn’t have HIV. Both of them live with his grandparents. His grandpa’s name’s Sun Or, 72. And grandma’s name’s Mon who is 68 years old. They are farmer. Their family also has a rice field to do but because of they are getting old, they gave the rice field to their daughter do and they can get some rice back every year. Anyways, it is still not enough for them. It just helps them for a short period and then they have to find some more by themselves.

Holy Heng with suppliesHoly Heng needs to go to Siem Reap every month for taking HIV medicine to protect himself not develops to AIDS that is a bit hard for his grandparents since they are quite old and can do nothing beside helping people in funeral which get small amount of money.

Holy Heng loves to study and he’s a good student. He was so happy when he can become a part of Back to School project. He smiled to receive school supplies, uniforms and bag especially a new bike and said, “I love it so much, thank you!”
