Sok Meantrob’s Story
Location: Chrorneang village, Chrorneang commune, Baray district, Kampong Thom province
Sok Meantrob, 12 year-old-girl, who studies in grade 2 at Thla primary school. Her father was died by malaria since 2003 and her mother has a chronic unknown disease. She can do nothing.
Meantrob has 8 brothers and sisters. Her oldest brother had been going to Thailand and he never come back home. Another two brothers are construction worker that each can earn $2 per day but it’s a temporary job.
Since her mother is always getting sick, Meantrob needs to help her mother to take care of her sister, doing house work before going to school. She can’t go to school on time since the school is quite far from her home.
Now she was very happy to be a part of Bless a Child project and CBN has provided her a new bike to keep her getting easy to go to school on time. With smiling face she said, “I’m so thankful to CBN for giving me this chance. I have now a good food to eat, enough supplies with new school uniforms. I will no worry about it especially I can go to school on time because this bike will help me a lot. I love it so much!”
Moreover, her mother said, “This project is mean much too me since I don’t have ability to give them enough support. Thank you so much for your providing, taking care of my children.”
