Cleft Lip Surgery Report of Phea Pharny

Mrs. Nary was in despair when she realized her baby girl; Pharny was born with a left-cleft lip. Her other four children, a son, three daughters were normal. For many months, Mrs. Nary and her husband worried and wondered what their bady’s future will be. They wanted Pharny to look normal and beautiful like other Cambodian girls. It would be difficult for her to find a husband they thought.

The families of seven are staying in relative’s house. No rice field, her husband earns two dollars a day doing coolie in village. Mrs. Nary hardly remembers a time when there was savings in the household. They did not have money to get Pharny cleft lip’s surgery. Mrs. Nary burdened for her children’s future, was there hope in midst of their problem and poverty?

One day they met local pastor who was visiting her village, they heard CBN’s cleft lip project. This brought new hope to Mrs. Nary and Pharny. Pharny met CBN’s staff and they arranged for Pharny’s free surgery in a hospital in Phnom Penh.

After successful surgery
Little Pharny is all smiles. Her parents and grandma are very excited for her. Mrs. Nary expressed her gratefulness “I would like to thank CBN, OB and donors who provide this help. Pharny looks beautiful now. Thank you!”

Cleft Lip Surgery Report of Phang Lin

Mrs. Phea and her husband lives in Krosang village where locates east of Phnom Penh city. Mrs. Phea has three children, two girls, one boy; Mrs. Phea was so sad with her third child who was born with left-cleft lip. Since she gave a birth of Lin, she was shameful with neighbor; Mrs. Phea did not take Lin out of public.

The family would have never been able to get Lin’s cleft lip fixed, but they did not have money for the surgery. They are yam farmer. Mrs. Phea earns two dollars a day planting yam in neighbor’s farm.

One day they met local pastor who was visited her village. Mrs. Phea heard CBN’s cleft lip project. This brought new hope to Mrs. Phea and Lin. Lin met CBN’s staff and they arranged for Lin’s free surgery at a hospital in Phnom Penh.

Following the successful surgery little boy, Lin gets a new beautiful smile. Lin is so happy. Her parents and grandma are very excited for him.

Cleft Lip Surgery Report of Dok Chab

Chab lives in Kborkroperng village of Svey Reng province. Born with cleft lip and palate, Chab has now lived with the embarrassing birth defect for 11 years. A little girl would not have to put up with the malicious teasing from friend and neighborhood. Chab speaks unclear; thus far she has not attended school till the age of eleven.

After her parents realized Chab was born with cleft lip. They were so sad how Chab’s future will be. Chab’s family did have money for fixing Chab’s cleft lip and palate. They are rice farmer and they earn only two dollars a day from construction work. Chab did not many friends to play with. Her future did not look promising. Who would want to marry her? A job was out of the question.

One day local pastor, who knew CBN sponsors cleft lip’s project, went to visit his cell group in Chab’s village in June 2008. This brought new hope to Chab and her family. Chab met CBN’s staff, and they arranged an operation for her in National Pediatric hospital in Phnom Penh.

Thank to CBN and donors who provided this help. To day Chab has a beautiful smile. Her parents and brother-sister are very excited for her. “i am so glad for the surgery,” said Chab.” I had been waiting for a long time and finally, my face become normal, i am attending school this year, Thank you”

Cleft Lip Surgery Report of Bee Pan

Mrs. Soporn lives in Klouk village of Prey Veng province. She was very sad when her second son Pan was born with serious cleft lip and palate. A little Pan speaks unclear. Mrs. Soporn was so worried how his future will be. He would difficult to attend school. Who would want to marry him? A career was out of the question.

The family was desperate to fix Pan’s cleft lip and palate, but they did not have money for the surgery. Mrs. Soporn has no rice field. Mrs. Soporn earns two dollars per day from vegetable selling.

In June 2008 Mrs Soporn saw CBN’s cleft lip project in poster which hanged up in local health center. This brought new hope to Mrs. Soporn and Pan. Mrs. Soporn took Pan to meet CBN’s staff and they arranged an operation for him in National Pediatrics hospital in Phnom Penh.

Now Pan is all smiles. Her parents and grandma are so happy for him. “Mrs. Soporn expresses her gratefulness “I would like to thank CBN and donors who provide this help to change my son life from ugly face to beautiful face. Cleft Lip Surgery Report of Phern Sothea

Mrs. Thea and her husband, who are a new couple marriage, live in Keo Bay village east of Phnom Penh city. Since Mrs. Thea realized her first child was born with cleft lip, she almost dropped the tear because of cleft lip’s child. She could not breast feed him-how Sothea grew up. She really not wanted to keep her baby in family because she was so ashamed with neighborhood and friends.

The family was desperate to get Sothea’s cleft lip fixed, but they had no money for the surgery. They are rice and vegetable farmer, and Mrs. Thea earns only one dollar a day from selling vegetable.

One day Mrs. Thea met local pastor near her village, and she told pastor about her child problem. Then Pastor surely knew that this family is too poor and they really needed help to survive her baby. Pastor asked many charity organizations in Cambodia.

When CBN’s staff heard about this news, they asked Mrs. Thea to bring Sothea to CBN office in Phnom Penh. This brought new hope to Mrs. Thea and her baby. CBN’s staff arranged a surgery for him in a hospital.

Today Sothea has a beautiful smile. His parents are very happy for him. Mrs. Thea expressed all her gratefulness “I would like to thank CBN and donors who provided this help. Thank for caring us while we are staying in hospital. Sothea looks handsome now, i love him so much.” Thank you.

Mr. Chan lives in Remeanhak village of Svey Reng province. He realized himself-was born with cleft lip when he was twelve. Then Mr. Chan was so ashamed with friends and neighborhood. Mr. Chan embarrassed to go out of public.

He got married in 1982 when parents arranged for him; he has 6 children, three boys and three girls, four of them are schooling. All his children did not like going out with him to visit neighborhood or participate public ceremony because they are shy to villagers. They are rice farmer, he has never heard about cleft lip surgery for 48 years.

One day while visiting of local pastor in his village, Mr. Chan heard CBN’s cleft lip project. This brought a new hope to Mr. Chan and his family. Mr. Chan Met CBN’s staff and arranged an operation for him in a hospital.

Mrs. Lina and her husband live in Tan Mou village, Svey Reng province south of Cambodia. They were new married couple family and they had only one child. Mrs. Lina was so sad with her baby was born with cleft lip. Mrs. Lina was so worried how to bring her baby up in future, because she was difficult to breast feed. She was ashamed to take little Sina to along with her out of public. “When she grows up, she has not friend, no school, no man to married her because of cleft lip” says Lina

One day Mrs. Lina took her child to offer medicine in local health center near her village, she heard CBN’s cleft lip project in poster. This brought new hope to Mrs. Lina and Sina. Sina met CBN staff, and they

arranged an operation for her in hospital.

Cleft Lip Surgery Report of Lum Neth

Mrs. Sophal and her husband live in Phak village, Svey Reng province north of Phnom Penh city. Mrs. Sophal was worried when her third daughter was born with cleft lip, and she was ashamed to take little Neth out of public.

The family would have never been able to afford the Neth’s cleft lip fixed, but they did not have money for the surgery. They are rice farmer, and Mr. Sophal earns two dollars a day doing construction work.

One day they met a boy in their neighborhood who was sponsored by CBN’s cleft lip project. This brought new hope to Mrs. Sophal and Neth. Neth met CBN’s staff, and they arranged an operation for her in National Pediatric hospital.

Following the successful surgery, Neth is now all smiles, she is very happy. Her parents and grandma are so excited for her.
