Cleft Lip Surgery Report of Dok Chab

Chab lives in Kborkroperng village of Svey Reng province. Born with cleft lip and palate, Chab has now lived with the embarrassing birth defect for 11 years. A little girl would not have to put up with the malicious teasing from friend and neighborhood. Chab speaks unclear; thus far she has not attended school till the age of eleven.

After her parents realized Chab was born with cleft lip. They were so sad how Chab’s future will be. Chab’s family did have money for fixing Chab’s cleft lip and palate. They are rice farmer and they earn only two dollars a day from construction work. Chab did not many friends to play with. Her future did not look promising. Who would want to marry her? A job was out of the question.

One day local pastor, who knew CBN sponsors cleft lip’s project, went to visit his cell group in Chab’s village in June 2008. This brought new hope to Chab and her family. Chab met CBN’s staff, and they arranged an operation for her in National Pediatric hospital in Phnom Penh.

Thank to CBN and donors who provided this help. To day Chab has a beautiful smile. Her parents and brother-sister are very excited for her. “i am so glad for the surgery,” said Chab.” I had been waiting for a long time and finally, my face become normal, i am attending school this year, Thank you”
