Born with cleft palate, Meng has now lived with the embarrassing birth defect for thirteen years. Meng speaks unclear; she is difficult reading; classmates make fun at her, Meng did not have many friends to play with. Meng wouldn’t have to put up with the malicious teasing from her classmates and villagers.

Mrs. Sokim, who was Meng’s aung, was desperate to fix Meng’s cleft palate, but she has not money for surgery. She is rice farmer. She could only support daily food in extended family.

While visiting of local pastor in Meng’s village in August 2008, little Meng heard CBN’s cleft lip project. This brought new hope to Meng and Mrs. Sokim. Meng met CBN’s staff and they arranged for Meng’s free surgery at a hospital in Phnom Penh.

Following the successful surgery, Meng is now all smiles. Her aunt and siblings are so excited for her.

“I would like to thank CBN and kind donors who provide this help.” Meng said. “Thanks for visiting me on three post operative examination, I can speak and read normally. Thanks you so much!”

Mrs. Sokim would have never expected to afford the numerous surgeries. She expressed her gratefulness. “Thanks for providing us with hope and strength and provided my daughter to live happy life.”

The family was desperate to fix Sokrun’s palate, but they have not money for surgery. They are rice farmer. They earn 1.5 dollars per day from firewood sale.

One day Sokrun met local pastor who visited her village. Sokrun heard about CBN’s cleft lip project. Sokrun was so happy. This brought new hope to Sokrun and her family. Sokrun met Cbn’s staff and they arranged for her surgery at a hospital in Phnom Penh.

Following the successful surgery, Sokrun is now all smiles. Her parents and siblings are excited for her.

“I would like to thank CBN and kind donors who provide this help.” Sokrun said. “I can speak the normal voice, thanks for providing me with hope and strength, I live happy life now .Thank you!”

The family was desperate to fix Pov’s cleft lip and palate; they have not money for an operation. They are rice farmer in a small piece of land. She did not have many friends to play with. She was so worried how her future will be. She would be difficult to get married; a career did not look promising.

While visiting of local pastor in Pov’s village in February 2005, a little girl was so happy. This brought new hope to Pov and her family. Pov met Operation blessing and they arranged for Pov’s free surgery at a hospital in Phnom Penh. She had a successful surgery cleft lip and palate in July 2008. Operation blessing provided for transportation, meals and visited Pov on three post operative examination.

Following the successful surgery, Pov is now all smiles, she is very happy. “I would like to thank CBN and kind donors who provided this help.” Pov said. “I can speak and read normally.” Thank you
