The total population of this village is around 130 families. The main occupation of these villagers is agriculture and they depend on the season for cultivation. These people cultivate their small piece of land is which they grow rice. In other seasons, most of these people leave there village to finding work in other village like building construction and earn their livelihood. They are poor and economically backward. In the village the people they don’t have facilities like safe drinking water. Operation Blessing team visited this village at the request of Pastor Nou Phorn who is spreading the Gospel and doing God’s work in this area. When the team surveyed and saw the dire need of water, they drilled and provided a hand pump well in this village.

Mrs. Tan Yoeurn, 60 years old said with the joy and thankful that: I am very happy and very surprise with this well pump. I’m very thankful to CBN and Donor that you help my village with safe drinking water. Before I use the water from the dug well about 1 km from my village, everyday in my family we don’t have enough water to use. Only my child that go to collect the water from that well and he can go only after school but sometime he have free time he can collect more. Everyday my family has water only for cooking and drinking and we don’t have enough water for shower or give to animal. If we want shower we need to go to the well located for take shower but we can take shower 2 times for a week because it so far.

In the dry season, we need to spend a lot of time to get the water from other village and sometime we us the water from channel and water is not clean it very cloudy. We don’t know what to do and we have no choice we life by faith and by pray.

By the grace of God and because His love to the people my village have pump well. This well pump is very good well and brings us good water and good health. Now my family have enough water to us and my child don’t need to go far to get water any more. I’m worry any more about water and I can get the water by my self too. Because of the love of God through CBN and Donor my family have better life. I pray to God for blessing to donor a nd CBN and longer life.

It is very close to Vietnam border. There are 135 families living. They are very poor and live in their small house made by light material. Majority of them grow rice, corn, bean, water melon and some vegetables. Besides, they make other revenue from carving stone at the mountain at the edge of village for sale and some make palm sugar. During hot season, they can grow nothing because there’s no water. In this period of time, plenty of men have to leave the village for some odd job like construction work to survive, they return home when rainy season turn back again.

Ms. Mot Hoeurn, 54 years old who lives near the well joyfully thanked and blessed donor of the well and told us about her hardship before the village well was dug by telling like this: I am very happy that we have got the well. I am greatly thankful to the one who have helped us. This well has extremely promoted our living. Before, during hot season, my husband went out for work, I have to carry water with shoulders from a pond over one and half kilometers away from my house. Drawing water is the busiest thing in our daily activities because we have to go to fetch it 2 to 4 times a day otherwise we would have nothing to cook and drink. I usually take a bath one time in a few days. Now, since we have this well we have no longer trouble about this problem. It’s really useful to our living. Thank you very much CBN and donor for your help.

There were 350 families living. They are very poor and make their living by cultivating rice, corn, bean and some vegetable on their small land. Also, they feed some animals and climb palm tree in order to make palm sugar for sale for other income. During hot season, they can grow nothing because the land become dry and there’s no water, plenty of man in the village go to Phnom Penh or nearby town to find work as construction worker and they return home in the next season. Besides, there’re some families sending their daughter to Phnom Penh to find work in garment industry to survive.

Mr. Kong Koy, 57 year old who lives near the well thanked OB team and donor for the well happily and told us about his difficulty before the village well was dug by telling like this: I am really happy for the well. Before, entire village have only one well and we can use it only in the early of hot season. After it dried, all of villagers have to buy it in expensive price. We are so poor therefore we can not buy it all times. I buy it only for cook, drink and some needy use. We hardly take a bath. Because water is necessary to our living, sometimes we have to sell our rice in order to buy it. It is the main problem in the village.

Now, this miserable have no longer affect our living. We have enough water to use and especially, it is clean and good. I would like to tell you that I am very happy. I am extremely grateful to the one you who have helped us. Thank you very much CBN and donor for the well.

The Kingdom of Cambodia. It’s 50km from town and it takes about 30minutes to travel from town to this village. Total of population of this village is around 2100 people. As for the situation of the families in this village, some of the families are rich, some of families are poor and some are average-income but most of the families are average-income. The main occupation of people in this village is rice farming and vegetables farming which means that they are working on the field and most of them are very dependent on rain, if there is no rain, they cannot grow rice. As for vegetable farming that means they plant vegetables like beans, lettuce, cabbage, cucumber, eggplant, garlic, shallot, pumpkin, tomato, potato, taro, and banana etc. And in other part of the village, the people are doing small business like selling fish, pork, beef, chicken and vegetables to support their family. Sometimes they get small income and sometimes they get more income from their daily sales. In this village, there is a problem of contaminated water, because there is no any well in this village, and the open well that they use is dry, so there is not enough water for them to use. Sron Srem said I’m very happy to see the well was drilled in my village, since its help us a lot before I got this pump well; I had a lot of problem with the water that I used. In the rainy season, it’s not difficult to find out the water because I can use rainwater, but in the dry season, there is not enough water to use in the family and for other thing that I need, so I need to walk about 200m from my house to get the water everyday. I walk to get it three times a day and sometimes I have to used white alum to make water clean and then I can cook or drink it, but now I don’t have to walk to get the water anymore because I have this pump well. And now I have enough water to use in my family and I don’t worry about water anymore, because of this pump well, the people who live in this village, they have better health. I’m very thrilled and satisfied with this pump well, because it’s give a lot of benefit to my family and the people who are live in this village. Last of all I would like to thank the Donor so much and Operation Blessing teams who donated us this pump well and I wish all of you good health and long life.
