Living Water-Beoung Kok Primary School
Beoung Kok village is located in Kampong trolach District, Kampong Chhnang Province which is about 90km northwest of Phnom Penh. The Kingdom of Cambodia. It’s 50km from town and it takes about 30minutes to travel from town to this village. Total of population of this village is around 2100 people. As for the situation of the families in this village, some of the families are rich, some of families are poor and some are average-income but most of the families are average-income. The main occupation of people in this village is rice farming and vegetables farming which means that they are working on the field and most of them are very dependent on rain, if there is no rain, they cannot grow rice. As for vegetable farming that means they plant vegetables like beans, lettuce, cabbage, cucumber, eggplant, garlic, shallot, pumpkin, tomato, potato, taro, and banana etc. And in other part of the village, the people are doing small business like selling fish, pork, beef, chicken and vegetables to support their family. Sometimes they get small income and sometimes they get more income from their daily sales. In this village, there is a problem of contaminated water, because there is no any well in this village, and the open well that they use is dry, so there is not enough water for them to u
se. Sometime they get sick from the water like diarrhea, intestine problem, itch and rash etc. The villagers said that water is most important in their village, because they can’t live without water, Blessing team village, at the request of the local pastor who is spreading the Gospel and doing God’s work in that area. When the team surveyed and saw the dire need for water, we drilled and provided with this village with a hand pump well.
Chhom Phalla, 13 year old who was a student of Beoung Kok Primary School expressed her saying” I’m very happy to see the well was drilled in my school, because of in my school don’t have a well and everyday it’s very difficult for me to have the water and I always to bring the water from my house and sometime I have to run to my house to get the water because I am thirsty but now I no need to bring the water from my house anymore, because I have this pump well in my school and also this pump well it can help me and my classmate to have enough water for drinking, and now I want to thankful for your kindness for blessing me and my school with this pump well.
